I. Manifesto
Every great collection is a city. Galleries are streets, the path between them a piazza, the silence of a Tuesday morning a kind of weather. For most of us that city stays locked — across an ocean, behind a ticket counter, on the wrong side of a Tuesday.
Viamuseo is a way in. We map the world's museums in three dimensions — geometry, light, the relationship of one artwork to the one beside it — and put them on your desk, your phone, the nightstand. Curatorial text becomes conversation. Crowded wings become quiet rooms. Six thousand kilometres of museum floor become the distance between your chair and the door.
This is not a substitute for going. It is the front step. It is the moment you stop walking past a museum on a wet afternoon and decide, eventually, to climb the stairs.
II. How it works
Spin a globe, drop a pin, pick a town or a country. The whole world is in your hand. Filter by period, collection, opening hours.
Read the curatorial note. Walk the gallery in 360°. Check the artist, the date, the restoration history. Pin what you love to your collection.

III. The map

V. The guide
Point at anything in the room — a fresco, a label, the gilt of a frame — and ask. The guide has read the catalogue raisonné, the artist's letters, the conservation reports. It is patient. It is correctable. It will tell you when it doesn't know, and suggest where to look next.
Trained room by room, in collaboration with curators at partner institutions. Tonal, brief, formal when it should be. Speak to it in Italian; it answers in the same register.
VI. Live mode
Geotag in. The moment you cross the threshold of a partner museum, Viamuseo switches to Live mode: audio-first, hands-free, location-aware.
The guide narrates the room you are standing in. Point your phone at an artwork and it identifies it, describes the technique, offers a deeper reading. Ask in any language — it answers in the same.
Italian voice by default, eight more on tap. Hands in pockets.
